“The clinic was a great experience and an enjoyable moment to learn and improve my musical skills by working with these professional musicians. Trumpeters were highly competent and helped me by correcting some details of our musical repertoire” 25179 OCdt Tanguay
“The RMC Museum would like to formally express its thanks to the members of the RMC Club’s Kingston Branch for their outstanding contributions to the preservation of College heritage” 8057 Ross McKenzie, Museum Curator
“I don't remember where the idea came for the paved walk way to the library but it was to overcome the groove worn in the lawn from cadets who valued their time more than exercise in getting to and from their rooms. And so it happened that some of us (army) types knew all about shovelling dirt, the air force types knew how to avoid shovelling dirt, and the navy types didn't recognized dirt for what it was, and Route 66 was born.” 6912 Keith Hooey
The Wall of Honour is six feet eight inches high and 132 feet long. Plaques of honour shall be mounted on the Wall, inviting all who view to pause and read a short description of these recognized Canadians. It is located on Verite Drive (the previous roadway running behind the Commandant’s house to Rideout Row), which is the main path for cadets proceeding to and from the College sports facilities. The Class of 1963, as their gift to the Royal Military College Kingston upon entry into the Old Brigade in 2009, decided to create and donate a Wall of Honour to recognize ex-cadets of the Royal Military Colleges (RMC, RRMC, CMR) and others with College numbers for outstanding achievements and contributions to Canada or the world.

While the maintenance of all areas of the College grounds is the responsibility of the DND, we know that for those who attended RMC in Kingston the Commemorative Arch will always hold a special place in their hearts and we share their concern that this very special piece of College architecture receive careful and focused attention. In recognition of this cause in 2009 the Foundation established The No. 1 Fund, based initially on a most generous bequest from the estate of Elizabeth Wurtele, granddaughter of No. 47 Colonel Ernest Wurtele. The Fund is dedicated to the memory of No. 1 Capt. G. G. Wurtele, No. 47 Colonel Ernest Wurtele and all of the members of the Wurtele family that attended the Royal Military Colleges. The Fund will be used exclusively for the maintenance of the Commemorative Arch and the surrounding area.
